Meet our Instructor

Mike Del Angel

Mike was Born on August 1, 1983 in Poza Rica, Veracruz-Mexico. He began his martial arts journey with boxing at the age of 4 years old.

 

Mike moved to United States at the age of 8 years old but did not continue training until the age of 14. He then began training regularly and competing in local “smokers” tournaments until his time to ship for basic military training.

Mike is a proud Veteran and a Retired U.S. Marine. He is a combat veteran who served in “Operation Enduring Freedom” in Afghanistan. During his time in the Marines, he was a Drill Instructor and a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) Instructor. He has trained over 30,000 service members under the MCMAP program and had the privilege to continue training martial arts throughout his career.

 

Mike trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under the instruction of 5th degree black belt, Fabio Novaes.  Mikes has a passion for learning, teaching, and competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Mike is a recognized brown belt under the International Federation and competes regularly. Some of his accolades include IBJJF #1 rank blue belt in division, World Champion, PAN American Champ, Absolute PAN American Champion, and multiple time OPEN champ.
